The best food is made with the simplest ingredients — and the most care.

At Kingston Gelato, everything we make is 100% plant-based, dairy-free, and free from palm oil, artificial flavourings, and unnecessary additives. We keep things simple so the flavours can shine.

Our two main bases are:

- Coconut milk — light, creamy, and perfect for fruity and classic flavours

- Homemade nut milk cream — rich, smooth, and ideal for bolder blends like chocolate or coffee

Coconut Milk Suppliers

After discovering the harmful monkey-slave practices behind many big-name coconut brands, the hunt was on for a product that didn’t employ these methods. Sri Lankan coconut milk was the answer, but many of the organic brands I tried had too low a coconut extract percentage, resulting in a too watery gelato. Luckily, I found the Sri Lankan husband and wife duo who make up Husker Coco, whose organic coconut milk is 90% extract and perfect for creamy gelato.

Local Partnerships

We source as many ingredients as possible from small, ethical suppliers — and when fruit’s in season in the North East, we jump at the chance to use it.

Allergens & Transparency

Our gelato is free from dairy and eggs, and many flavours that are based on coconut are free of other nuts. But we do use cashews, hazelnuts, and other nuts in certain flavours, and all our batches are made in the same small kitchen.
